if i had a muffler shop MANDREL bend some piping for me, would engine paint be durable enough to stay on and prevent corrosion of the cheap pipe the shop would use?
don't worry, it won't be painted yellow, red, or anything else stupid |

prob not dude. youd have to bake it on. plus the piping often has a "wet" coating on it to protect from rust while it sits on shelf....that ALL has to come off to paint! ask the muffler shop about "aluminized" piping. most good shops will offer that as slightly more expensive..... it lasts a little longer than mild steel.
painting with proper prep and hi-temp will help, but will burn off.....and STINK! my .02 |
