TUCKING wire harness in s13's like a baws

i tucked my harness 2 years ago when i had 17's and did a shitty job, so here i am REDOING it..

DON"T do it like that, unless you want to re-pull fender and re-tuck in the future, when you get big ass wheels in the front.

TODAY I GOT DOWN TO IT...

STEP 1 - REMOVE FENDER

STEP 2- look at the saggy ass harness rubbing on your 18" wheelzzzzzz, actually had to repair some damage, tire started rubbing through half the harness, my car actually shorted out pulling out of autozone in the middle of main st, fuck that never again..

STEP 3- remove plastic tube shielding around harness.

STEP 4- THIS is what i wish i would of knew back when i did it the first time, but if you cut out a slot, the harness tucks perfectly.

STEP 5- ZIP TIE THE FUCKER to random holes, like this
then bend the lip up to act as a barrier between wheel and harness..

STEP 6- repeat to other side of baller lambo aka s13

STEP 7- PUT THAT ISH back together and drive it how its supposed to be driven...

This will still rub if you are boss enough. Run it in the engine bay and never pop your hood.

Zipties are the most important thing a 240 owner can have.

Better yet, pop the hood and show off how badass your wiring relocation is, on top of the strut towers.

I would be worried about the metal edge of the slot that you cut out rubbing through the harness.

Have you done it?
to do it right you need to cut and re-solder wires

i did mine this way but i also hammered the pinch weld up and out a little bit more for clearance. i figured someone else would've thought to cut it as well.

+2
I suppose you could always coat the edges with some sort of liquid rubber, or maybe an old rubber hose you could slice in half and stick on the edge?

On my vehicle I enlarged the bonnet mechanism cable hole and pulled the harness through there. No part of it runs through the wheel wells anymore.

All of this looks like shit. No need to cut anything. Those connectors behind the fuse box come apart and the whole harness can be pushed out from inside the car and rerouted.

this really only works when you aren't using a fender brace... otherwise - fender brace is in the way and routing options are limited...

cut/reroute into engine bay is by far the best solution - albeit a tedious process its so worth it

Did my fender harness like so earlier this year and I have no problems with it, slammed on 18s. I put new wire conduit around everything though, especially the cut metal part. I would hate looking in my engine bay with the fucking wire harness there.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but this does not work! Maybe if you took out the dash and disconnected the while harness!

It does work. If you're smart and analyze the components and wiring, you'll see in-fact that the dash does not need to come out.

How do I know? b/c I did it a few weeks ago. I routed my harness just like the OP and shit got all fucked up from going ham on the track.

So I bought a new front chassis harness and ran that shit in the engine bay and didn't remove my dash.

ppl need to stop kidding themselves. Yes, the way the Op did it may be good for street driving and simple drifting but once you start going balls to the wall, those zipties will say fuck you and your harness.
