Something different! Turbo Y33 Q45 Build/Rebuild!
Hey Guys,
Don't post over here to much, but you might recall me from the "How To: KA24DE Head removal" video! Luckily things have slowed down and I will have time to film some more videos in the near future... In my limited spare time this year I figured I would do something a bit different. Got my hands on a 98 Q45 ![]() Rode great! Had to ruin that idea with some lowering springs! ![]() ![]() I used S14 springs; people were saying they would work. Did they work? Yeah; kinda. The fronts fit like SHIT. They were way to short, and barely fit on the pearch. The rears were about perfect though. My advice: Don't do it. Got some Z wheels ![]() Put some boso pipes on for winter ![]() ![]() Color matching wheels to my BMW! ![]() ![]() Then came coilovers! I use ISC N-1s and love the hell out of them! I recommend nothing but them; great quality! No pictures here ![]() Breakdown: Front: Y33 top hats, S13 dampers, Y33 custom lower mount welded to knuckle. Rear: S13 Dampers, S13 lowers, S14 top hats In the future, I will convert all the front to S13 suspension. The Y33 design is stupid, I hate it. Then, instead of going baller VIP status wheels...I decided to get a little crazy. ![]() Close up: ![]() Early startup: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6Nr7lcMRWs0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> After a couple beat runs! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wRT-HpLC2Iw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Then, the other day I was in a hurry to get to the bar and forgot to plug in my oil pump! Smoked the seals, which is okay! It was time for it to come off for winter anyways; the Q is my daily. I drive slammed all year round, was worried about packing snow in the air filter back there! Dual 4 inch tips for winter: ![]() How she sits now: ![]() In the next couple weeks I will be starting my T70 +Nitrous build on it. Stay tuned ![]() |

Few years ago a friend sold his Y32 http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-205553.html . I'd love to find a Y33, but they are not all that common up here. ...or someone thinks its JDM TIGHT, and wants over $6000 for it.

I'm not sure what your response is directly to, I'm going to assume the pink wheels/different exhaust's. You would have to know me to understand, We just do the crazy colors to screw around and have fun. I've never owned a neon orange car or anything of that sort, pink has always been my color. The pink BMW was a track car, so we figured we would rock the same color for the year. I already have 19x9 +15's for the car for next year. I could care less for negative post's :-P Doesn't bother me! My interior/engine bay is flawless as it should be, and with the T70 all of the pipes will be bent with stainless. |
