jumping AC compressor

so my a/c switch doesnt work. I pulled the plug on the compressor and hooked a hot wire up to it & the clutch works. Can i run a wire to my interior and back to the compressor? 12 volts is all that is right? I dont know much about ac or any of the ventilation system. The fan and all that shit is seperate right?

The dual (or triple) pressure switch interupts the signal to turn on the AC. If you push in the button and the light on the switch stays off, thats probably why.

Look for the silver canister looking thing in your AC system. It should have a plug coming out of it. Make sure that plug has continuity. If it doesn't, thats where you would want to jumper it, to force the AC to turn on. However, you probably have low pressure in your AC system and running it risks damaging the compressor.

I have nothing in there. I blew a hose the other day. I am going to replace my hose, and have it recharged. I also jumped the compressor and the clutch kicks in, so thats good. I just wanted to make sure that me bypassing the interior switch wasnt doing any harm. Like maybe the switch powered the compressor AND gave a signal to the ECU or something simular. I want to make sure i dont ruin anything!

Thanks
