Which new car would you buy?
I'm just curious, which new cars (within the last few years or coming soon) are you guys fans of? If you were gonna sell your 240 and/or upgrade to the $20k-$30k range, what would you spend your hard earned $$$ on?
for me, perhaps: 2012 Subaru WRX sedan? ![]() 2013 Subaru BRZ? ![]() 2010 Hyundai Genesis Turbo Coupe? ![]() not a fan of fwd but possibly 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo? ![]() what do you guys think? 2013 ford fusion? 2013 Dodge Dart? 2013 Chevy Sonic? 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth? lol

I would suggest you test drive them all & decide.
none are bad choices although I don't like the idea of a veloster turbo (if you want frugality get the regular veloster) If I had to choose right now the BRZ looks most tempting, but it also depends on it's asking price too. Above 26k, no way. |

I like the roominess of the WRX and the sportiness of it so that would for sure be my first choice. I'm still a little weary of the BR-Z

i guess the point of this thread is to gauge interest in newer cars. for some reason the 370 never grew on me they way the 350 did.

Looks like he's only looking at the regular WRX and not STi. To the OP, I'm currently in a similar situation so this helps me too lol ![]() Make a list of pro's and con's of each car. Afterwards, go and test drive each car. This is very important because just because the car looks nice, doesn't mean you'll like the way it drives. Test driving will definitely help in your decision. You're comparing RWD vs AWD. Do you get a lot of nasty weather where you are? |

I'm liking the new Ford Focus 'ST'.
Ford spent a lot of time dialing in the handling, per the magazine tests. 2.0T, 4-door hatchback...looks to be a solid choice for around $25,000 - Brian

if i were to buy a new car, probably something practical to haul shit and get good gas mileage. LOL
i been looking at the new Prius V, but its probably a little bit above 30k depending on your options. it doesn't look that bad anymore to me anymore (i used to think they looked like a giant 4 door CR-X) and more like a wagon with the new update. then the usual cars such as honda fit and mazda 5. for sports cars, impreza, bmw 328i, or 370z but they are all over 20-30k. maybe a camaro or mustang in that range, if i needed a car to get to work at this moment to get to work and it had to be new and a sports car, but if i was buying a toy i wouldn't buy that. |

I'd go BMW 135i/335i for myself or Mini Clubman S if the GF and I decided to trade-in the Cube. That's if I were buying new (can't beat the maintenance plan), but from the cars listed, probably BR-Z.

WRX 0-60 times are only if you want to break the gearbox.
BR-Z/FR-S for me, or a Fiat 500 Abarth, or maybe that Veloster. I like the Genny coupe too. I'd rather have a 5.0 Mustang than any of the above, of course, but it's a good bit more expensive.

Why the '10 model year Genesis Coupe and not the '13 model? If you were intending to spend 20-30k it doesn't make a lot of sense you'd go get a 3-yr old used car in the 20k range when new it would start at 22-23k-ish. that would be the most sensible choice & one I would be tempted to go for as well. |

BRZ or 370Z but I would say I am the type to buy the car after its been out a year or two. Give me one or two year old low mileage.
Let someone else eat the new car depreciation. I am just not a fan of 30% value loss the minute it rolls off the lot. Of course there are a few I would consider for a daily as well that I did not list. I listed the sports cars.
