gt2871r internal wastegate boost issues

So heres the problem. Ive had my 2871r turbo on my SR for about 7 months now and have always run the stock wastegate that came with the turbo when i bought it brand new. When I first got it i didnt adjust the arm, i just made sure the nut on the arm was tight and put it in. It boosted fine (~16 psi) until one day when the arm came off the flapper. I put it back on and then it boosts to like 18-20. So I dealt with that for a while until i pulled my motor week to do some maintainance. Put my motor back in and now it boosts to god knows what, i stopped pulling at 24 psi. what could be the problem here? Bad actuator? When i put the arm on the flapper its super tight, tighter than i remember it being but i cant lengthen the rod any further. Any input would be appreciated. thanks! oh and my vacuum source is coming from the intake manifold

Tighter rod = more boost

Turn the clevis arm counterclockwise to loosen and reduce boost.

Def: I know I understand that, but I can't loosen it anymore without it only being threaded in like 2 turns, and it possibly messing up the threads and pulling off.

Eschassis: tell me about it man I want to go external really bad. This internal crap sucks. I just have to wait for summer so I can save up to get a setup. Can I just put a flange on my megan manifold and slap a tial on there and go? what are some of my options for going external while still staying bottom mount?

Sounds like your WG actuator diaphram ripped. Usually it's hard to keep boost up towards redline on an internal. Which is why I'm about to weld a TiAL MVS on my stock mani.
