![]() Looking to put a roll cage in an s13 hatch what are my options? Don't really like the Godspeed and Cusco design of going around the dash intruding the leg area. What else is out there without fabricating a custom one

Oh yea is that what I did? I obviously care soooo much about post count seeing how few I have... And reason I have so few is because 99% of the answers are out tere. Not trying to be a dick but.. Too many people are dumbasses and ask practically rethorical questions. And try to call people trolls

What Nidd said. Several websites are out there to help you get the protection you need. Google can help too, but Id start with the larger, more well know 240sx retailers.

if you want a custom built cage expect about $200 a point for chromoly and any additional bars will of course increase the cost same with gussets and things like that.
you can find deals done by local guys just make sure that they comply with the type of racing you plan to do. no bolt in cage is going to pass tech for a tandem drifting in the US and it would be stupid to spend 2000 on a cage that cant pass either.

It is thru dash, its a 6 pt with x style door bars. It's the first cage I have ever done, and i am very satisfied with it. Of course you have to cut and notch all your pipes, but its not to bad. I can post up pics when i get home

I have a ER spec design cage and hate it!!! But after i recieved mine about year and a half ago i emailed them and told them all the problems so maybe they fixed their design...
Check out S&W cages too, why do you want a roll cage to be cool guy race car or is it purpose built. |

s&w cages are good, but you have to pay extra for fd requirement tubing. now if you never plan on trying to go to fd, i would say that would be fine. but if your going to spend the money on doin a cage why not just get the spec cage and know you will be fine for any drift event. just my .02

Thanks for the pics and the info i have a performance shop but i would like to know how long it took you to complete this 100%, approx. hours. And what special tools were needed? Really appreciate the pictures looks awesome. (also the car is purpose built not a "cool guy racecar" haha)

i did all the cutting, notching, and tacking it in place. that took a total of about 16hrs or so. again, i dont do this for a living lol. then my friend tigged it, which took about 13hrs. now if you were to mig it, it would obviously not take as long. all i used was a level and angle grinder to do my notching. hope that helps
