Question Hallman PRO RX VS Greddy Profec B Spec 2

I have the Greddy currently installed on my car I'm only running 9 lbs on my gt2871r, when i hit 9lbs the boost instantly drops to 5 [to stop from spiking?], so i heard its possible to adjust that to work better? or should i just switch to a Hallman PRO RX, that would hold and boost well, not drop or spike..? Thanks for the input.

I never used a Greddy Profec B but, I have a hallman pro rx with the in cabin adjustment, I like it. Its simple, and works. No spiking and holds boost steady.

Your boost controller is not set up properly. It should hit 9psi and hold it steady. The Profec B is one of the best boost controllers I have used. Try and get the manual offline and make sure it it set up right.

Thats what I'm about to say...never had any issue with mine. I had dual boost settings on mine, 1.5 for daily and 1.8 for max power on a GT3582R. Shit held fine hooked up to my Tial MVR wastegate.

I dont really know how to set it, my tuner set everything up :/ , but thanks for the input s13 drifta, im prob not gunna get the in cabin one tho, i heard its better to have shorter lines to the controller + the in car kit is a decent amount more money compared to the regular $85 hallman pro rx? But yeah my greddy acts stupid, 3k rpms, give it some hard throttle and the boost shoots up to nine and the car pulls really nice then as soon as it hits nine it drops im gunna pay more attention tomorrow to see if it goes back up after dropping.

Yeah, no problem. The in cabin adjustment is just a steel cord with the knob on the end. I don't have my vacuum lines running to the cabin, you keep those as short as possible.

There's no sense in going from the Profec B to a manual boost controller, no matter who makes it. Check the installation of your boost controller. To assure accurate boost, you may want to look into replacing the rubber/silicone lines with braided lines.

there is only 3 things you are looking for ...

set

gain

start boost....

The rest of the stuff is irrelevant

Also right now its display kpa, which is stupid and confusing....

To change to psi display

1. Turn off your boost controller
2. hold down select button and press the mode button 2 times

After that

your Set is at 9PSI
your gain is like at 45
and your start boost is 7......

Try that.

I tried to change it to psi, i hold select down, controller then says off and reads the idle boost or whatever, then i tried to hold select and mode twice and it doesn't work... also the first setting when u hit mode is set, then it says set gain, and so on.. i don't see start boost anywhere, unless it only says that when under psi idk..

nevermind, i looked up the terms on the manuel and put everything to what you said, it holds steady now but it hits like 7psi and not 9, and before it pulled harder before it hit the 9psi, also is it possible for your tune to just fuck up? because my car was tuned on my nistune and recently its running rich sometimes its so annoying..

looks for a member call 4x4le.... he is a authorized nistune dealer and one of the first nistune guys. Maybe he can help you.

That is weird you sure you havea GT2871R.... Also before I assume you were boost spiking so that is why....

Try Set Boost 12, Gain 55, and start at 10PSI?

See if that helps.
