S14 harness tuck DIY (cutting frame) step by step!!(wheel well tuck)

not sure if this is the right area to post this, please move to appropriate section please if not.

*Dislcaimer, I am not responsible for injuries due to poor safety and usage of tools/power tools, or damages due to poor worksmanship, DO NOT attempt if you think you cannot perform the tasks.
  • Ballin hard with your new rims but your harness is getting f**d?
  • Can't find a decent DIY thread to tuck your harness?
  • Making plans to super slam your car and you want to get ahead by tucking that annoying harness?
  • That tuck you already have still causing harness rub?
Well, here is the thread you've been looking for!

Novice steps(if you already have your fender off your car or know how to get to it skip to the pics and short tutorial comments)
  • Remove your headlights, grill, and corners
  • Remove all 12 screws(or less) along the top/side part of your support holding your bumper
  • Unplug all light connections on your bumper(sidemarkers/blinkers) and remove and set aside your bumper
  • Remove 9 screws holding up your fender 3 on top, 2 near door, 2 near corner light area, 2 near bottom rocker panel area.
  • At this point your fender is off(or should be -____- )!

Tools/Items I used
  • Protective gear
  • Side Grinder(sawzall would have been better but side grinder worked)
  • Primer
  • Duct Tape(yes i know, lol)
  • *Throw in any other steps you want to make it satisfactory to your project goal

mark where you want to cut(pic is piece already cut but put back into place for reference)
IMO it was the perfect size cut for the harness to fit into.

Chunk cut out, used the hammer to hit the chunk out because the side grinder would not reach

Primer the fresh cut to prevent rust

Finished product, i threw some duct tape over the primer after it dried so the edges of the cut wont cut into the harness.ziptie your harness using the holes provided by nissan ^^

Enjoy

Awesome post, I should be doing this shortly.

How hard was it to put the fender back on over the harness?

+1093480938 Atleast smooth the damn edges. What makes you think the sharp edges wont cut thru the duct tape and the harness sleeve from all the vibration? Besides, you only showed a very small piece of the tucking process.

don't use zip ties. use screw in harness clip/anchors with rubber gromets.

^^^ see above, works out for my buddies who did it themselves no problems in the 5 years theyve had it like that. True, I rushed the thread before i went to sleep, so ill add more detail to the tuck when i get more pictures.

thanks! , I kinda saw it coming though because i didnt smooth out the edge like i wanted to and just opted for the duct tape like my friend did.
Lack of pictures from dirty covered hands from other things done that day and poor lighting when the sun went down also was a no-go , hopefully...
i get more pictures during the day to add more detail to the thread.

yea you could have cleaned up the edges and done a better cut out job. Also painting over the cut would help prevent from rust forming.
