My 1995 has no cupholders and I am sure my luck will end one of these days with either me spilling coke on my interior or else ending up in an accident trying to juggle the cup, shifting, and steering.

What have you guys done to alleviate this problem? anything thats slick and unobtrusive when not being used (I refuse to buy one of those plastic baskety things that hang on your window or vent holes)

The space b/n the cubby hole and the shifter, in an s14, was designed as a sorta cupholder. Most drinks fit pretty well in there reasonably well (although they tend to get in the way of shifting and tilt under accelaration or braking.

Of course, since my whole center console was replaced with 97-98 trim, I now have the little slot to compartmentalize the high/low sections of this area and make it a better cupholder. *The one good thing about having your stereo/center console stolen*

I find you can wedge i between you and your door. it stays there pretty goodnever had a spill yet. i also put it in the arm rest but that interfears with shifting. i saw a guy turn his ash tray into a cup holder once. i dont remeber the site name but it was like kyles 240sx page... see if you can locate it.

inside the armrest for me.... the cup fell once, but it only spilled in the cup holder, which was easy to clean up.

I saw some guy bolted on a cupholder that folds down on the passenger side of the lower center console and folds back up when someone wants to sit there. It was pretty #### cool. He said he only bought it at Pep Boys. It's big enough to hold Big Gulps! He's put some fast food soft drinks in there a couple times.

apparently the 97-98s had a cupholder-thing that fits into the square hole behind the shifter. can anyone confirm?

Yes and no - it is the same rectangular area, but there is a divider that you can slide in to separate the "high" and "low" sections of it - making it a tighter fit for your favorite beverage. I've got 97-98 center console now and rigged a piece to fit until I get motivated enough to go the the dealer and get a new one. It works better than the 95-96 console did.

just get a small ball (3-5" wide) and put it in next to your cup and it won't fall over. There was another topic talking about this inwhich I believe 96sechick confirmed that there WAS infact an insert for the rectangle hold behind the shifter with two circles for cups. I guess most ppl threw it away or lost it before we bought our cars.

Your S14 has TWO cupholders. . You need that little plastic divider for the compartment though. . I think it's f-ing insanely expensive lol. . I got one with my 97. . thank god. . Did the 95-96 NOT come with that piece? It's the EXACT same console. . it'll fit. .
