Should I buy a 240?! - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I own a crx for sale and might want to get a 240SX coupe but I need more info on the chassis and its potential before I buy another car. Keep in mind, Nissan is new to me. The cars look like they have much potential but I need reassuring info. Here's something that's been nagging me. Stupid question: What's the difference between the s chassis code (s13) and the r chassis code (r33)? Info. appreciated.

yes, they are fun cars. Keep in mind though you are trying to get one at a time when drifting and rwd imports are more popular in the states then ever, so you will probably get raped pricing wise.

240s are slow, theyre ugly, and they have stupid 80s pop up lights. but whats worse than that is, after you get one you have to answer stupid questions like,"are you getting the swap?" and "are you going to do the silvia conversion?"
so, unless you are prepared to answer stupid questions, no you shouldnt get one.

Dont get a 240. As a matter fact after you sell your car go buy a Mustang or Camaro those are the fast cars. Our cars suck. Especially on the turns.

Funny stuff

The R chassis i.e. R32, R33, R34 refers to the Nissan Skyline... the S13 and S14 are the two 240SX chassis sold in the US.

Really, you should buy a car because you like it... not for performance "potential". I'd say most cars have "potential" it's just a matter of how much you want to spend and how you want to set it up.
