lol just fyi the moroso pan is also aluminum. The difference is that the greddy unit is casted aluminum which is more prone to breaking, while the moroso is sheet aluminum.

REAL greddy oil pans are VERY strong units. fakes break/shatter easily due to faulty/cheap casting process. |

As far as I know the fake ones don't have the "sr20" or small little "trust" cast into them they are just blank. I have had both real and fake. The casting on the fake is a lot rougher than the genuine unit.

Wouldn't cast aluminum be better than sheet aluminum anyways? I think I would rather have my oil pan crack and leak a little oil than get dented and completely starve the engine of oil without me even noticing. It's much easier to notice a leak than a small dent that could stop the oil pickup from working.

those hex plugs that need to be removed during installation/removal is a total fault area, in my opinion. being made out of alum is another weakness the tomei is so fucking awesome. the stainless steel construction and tig welding is TOP fucking notch. the circuit sports version looks like a bizzarro copy in comparison |

For the miniscule price difference between Moroso, GReddy, and TOMEI, without a shadow of a doubt I'd get the TOMEI. Superior design, good quality, and I've never once gotten a TOMEI product I didn't like or looked janky. Not to mention it's repairable if you smash it to a certain extent. The GReddy? No dice.

Real Greddy pans have "SR20" cast into the front and the Greddy logo on the bottom. Older ones have the Trust logo on the bottom.
While there are many copies, I am not sure if there are any that also retain the logos. One can also tell the copies apart by the swing baffles. The authentic Greddy ones look nice and precise, while the knockoffs use slabs of steel riveted to some re-drilled hardware store door hinges. I have a knockoff pan and I removed the swing baffles because I do not trust any moving contraptions in my oil pan. As for materials, I prefer the cast aluminum because it will just shatter when hit too hard, as opposed to pans that dent, bend the oil pickup, and ruin the motor while the driver may not even suspect any serious damage yet. Though a good skid plate should protect any oil pan. Or one could make a bash plate, similar to the JUN pan. ![]() ![]() |

Tomei or Moroso all the way. Don't buy knockoffs for things like this. I have heard horror stories of porous cast having slow leaks. At very minimum if you must do a knockoff pan, do not get a cast one.

now if that ^ was covering the whole bottom of the bumper too, would be proper. but you need a lot of bolts to secure that, you dont want it flying off in a race (danger to teh manaflod!!11)

You expect Zilvians to read previous posts?
![]() To the OP, yes. As has been previously stated, counterfeit Greddy pans are probably more common than real ones. I have a Greddy copy myself, and it works fine. But as has also been previously stated, I'd recommend the Tomei or Circuit Sports pan. |

The only thing i would have against a tomei or moroso pan is that from what ive seen they dont have the groove machined in to the mating surface where it mounts to the motor. Someone with a moroso was telling me they couldnt get theres to seal %100, leaked a "cd sized puddle over a year". Maybe they didnt use enough sealer or something though i dont know..
I currently have an authentic Greddy. |

Canton Racing (creator of accusumps) just came out with a new pan last month, Enjuku is the only one I know carrying it. I've picked one up and will be installing it soon, maybe I'll post pics and a review, but probably not.
