He told me when I put the new ignition switch everything would start back workin but I got a new one installed but problem is still there the backlight works jus fine but my overdrive button check engine gas lights etc wont come on at all and the speedometer, rpm and gas gauges aren't moving at all what fuses should I check if not a fuse problem what else besides tcu might it be? Drl don't come on either... I don't feel comfortable driving it without those gauges working

How about check ALL the fuses. Who is your mechanic and why didn't you insist HE fix it??? He told you that you needed to replace the ignition switch and that would fix the cluster??? Sounds shady.
