ka24de rethreading exhaust manifold
How would I rethread the egr pipe hole on the exhaust manifold, if possible. I guess mine stripped somehow when I loosened it, or when I tried putting it back on. Anyway the hole is fairly large so would it be better to just buy a used oem exhaust manifold?

you could just put the male end in the female end and then use something like epoxy/jb weld/similar if all else fails.

I don't even know the size I would need to retap it. I never thought about using jb weld on it. My first thought was fuck now I gotta buy an exhaust manifold. Thanks. I will keep that in mind.

when you go to the parts store, the max operating temp of the fillers/etc should be on the package

JB weld will probably work for a while, but bake out and crumble. If you just need it to pass smog, it will probably work for that long.
See if you can get a muffler shop to weld the right size nut on. |

fix it right and weld a nut(or the correct bung for best results) on it like I stated before a muffler shop would charge less then 10 if you just took them the manifold and nut and had it ready to go. yes I agree you can put some metal miller and call it a day but what happens when you need to remove the pipe again.
