FS/FT: S13 SR20 Air Conditioning and full interior
For those of you that happen to remember this listing from a while back, please re-read the description, things have changed.
$3500 I have for sale a drift/track/daily ready 1991 Nissan 240 sx s13 hatchback with an SR20det motor swapped in. Everything was done Well, however I recently blew the turbo on it and no longer have the time to mess with it. Everything else except for the turbo is in great condition. The car is still drivable as is, but the turbo has shaft play and the car blows smoke after trying to boost. GOOD: Godspeed front mount intercooler Godspeed radiator Always used Mobil1 oil . Hks head gasket ARP head studs Cp pistons Forged rods BC cams New timing chain New water pump HKS roker stopers Spitfire coils Module peak boost turbo manifold 3 inch full exhaust. I have a 2.5" muffler on right now because I was daily driving the thing, but I have the full exhaust that I will include with the sale. ACT clutch Full suspension: BC racing coil overs less than a year old lsd rear end Megan racing control arms all the way around with modified front knuckles Big brake kit in the front (can include rear calipers with the sale). Borg Warner s256 turbo AEM boost controller AEM A/F ratio Solid motor mount and trany mounts Solid rear subframe bushing Extended wheels studs Volk replica wheels (They are not my taste but they are straight) FULLY WROKING Air Conditioning! POWER STEERING! One piece drive line. Detchwerks fuel pump. Real carbon fiber and the clear coat is NOT gone. Stereo works Pioneer speakers installed into the privacy shield in the back. No rust, The body is straight. Battery relocated to the trunk. Optima yellow battery. The ECU is tuned by Martin from http://rs-enthalpy.com/ Registration is good until Oct/2014, no back fees or anything weird. Clean title BAD: Paint is whatever. It's a cheap paintjob, but it shines up and looks ok from 5-10 ft away. Passenger seat has some rips. I have Recaro seats that I can sell with the car as well. The dashboard has cracks per usual for these cars from the sun. BLOWN TURBO (Read first paragraph) Back to good things: Here are some videos of the motor starting/running/revving: Cold start: S13 sr20det cold start - YouTube Video of a short pull (pre-blown-turbo, obviously): https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=mzL7aLT7Hl8 Photos (Flickr photo set): http://www.flickr.com/photos/78745106@N08/ I'm looking to sell the car outright, but will consider trades for a stickshift BMW(e30-e46) , a Miata or an is300. I'm fairly easy and have cash to add if you have something really nice or will accept cash if you're trying to stick me with a beater ![]() Last edited by freethebikes; 04-14-2014 at 11:08 AM.. |

I realize that buying a car remote is stressful/risky, but I'm willing to work with the buyer. I was thinking we could do a Facetime/skype call and I can show/demo anything that is of interest to the buyer.

According to my research what a bunch of people do to get out of the ticket and keep their car is "sell" to someone they know, go to court, pay the fines for the their ticket while explaining that the car is sold and then "buy" the car back from their friend after the court. From that point the ticket is gone and everything is fine. All of this tells me that I could sell the car to someone in Cali and the person shouldn't have trouble registering it. That being said I want the buyer to be fully aware of why I'm selling the car and to make their own decisions. |

All you have to do is pay the ticket. They give you the option to correct the emissions on the car n bring it in for ref inspection, or you can pay the bail amount of the ticket and it goes away as does any other ticket. They don't cone to your house and see if u fixed it or not they don't car. theyed ratget get your money anyways. Ppl get so paranoid as if some smog police are going to bang on the front door. The ticket will not be cheap but u can make payments and spread it out through extensions

I got the ticket in the mail, and it says that the bail is $550. It says I can go to court, do court by mail or send in the bail amount WITH proof of having fixed everything. The ticket says that I must appear at the ref, too. Should I just play dumb and send in the check with nothing attached?

I got the same ticket several years back here in Cali with my old S14 with SR20. I was freaking out at first as well. A few weeks after I received the ticket, I got the notice in the mail stating I can either take my car to the smog ref and pay a $425 fee (or something close to that) or pay $500 and NOT take it to the smog ref, and then the ticket is done and done. Didn't have to go to court, and didn't have to take my car to a smog ref. Obviously I just paid the $500 fine and was done with it. Read the notice you got in the mail very thoroughly, as it can be confusing the way they word things sometimes. Good luck.

if what has been said above is true, then i think if you were to just pay off the fine and get rid of the ref ticket, you would get a lot more biters for this car. I know i would be one of them for sure.

First you take a driving test, if you pass, you are awarded a drivers license. But driving is a privilege, not a right! Then you get auto insurance from such companies as Mercury, AAA, Geico, Allstate, or Esurance (now a part of Allstate). Then you are set to drive! If you have nice parents, they will buy you a vehicle (not always the car you want) or let you drive their minivan. If you're very lucky, you can buy a sweet car, like busted up 1989 Nissan 240sx with a salvage title, and put in an illegal SR20DET turbo engine. If you're lucky enough to have this, you then use the key to unlock the door, enter the car, then use that same key to start it (if it starts). Then you proceed to drive said vehicle on public roads and highways, sometimes in a douche-like manner.

Ok, so I sent in the check for the bail amount without any proof of having fixed anything, it got returned 2 days later with a note that said they need proof of having fixed the CORRECTABLE offences. The note doesn't mention the missing smog device, only the tint and the exhaust. So I was thinking maybe I can provide a proof of having fixed those (I got an extra silencer for the exhaust and I'll tear the tint off if it means that I get to keep the car).
After doing some research it seems like the only acceptable proof of having fixed your tint and exhaust in California is an officer's sign off on the back of the ticket. The back of my ticket says "ref only" so I think I'm still screwed. If anyone has any ideas on how to get a proof of correction for tint and exhaust without having to go to the ref, please let me know, otherwise the car is still for sale. |

Yeah, the ticket was taken care of, I got registration till Oct 2014, everything is clean and the car is back up for sale because I have to travel for work and don't have anywhere to store it. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a damn fast car.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been responding to messages. I've had some issues with the car and wanted to fix them before deciding whether to sell or keep the it. I was able to resolve all of them but (as it always goes when everything is working, hah) now I want to keep the car. If someone has $5500 cash (so far all the offers have been lower) I'll still sell it, but otherwise I'm going to keep it and enjoy it.
If anyone would like to go cruise/hoon around, message me! |

The car is back up for sale/trade. I blew the turbo that was in it and I no longer have the time nor the interest in the car. It's still driveable (you can get it home), however it blows smoke if you try to boost it. I think the car is worth about $3500 with the blown turbo (Everything except for the turbo is still great). If anyone is looking for a project, this is a great jump-in point.
If you have a miata, I will gladly trade. I'll also consider BMW still. |
