F20 s13??

I think it would be a pretty rad (lack of a better word) swap, 240 hp, relaibility, smog legal (more than a sr), and best of all 9,000 RPM Red Line, i mean its of course better than a NA SR, but the s13 (coupe) is probably jsut as light asa S2K so what do you think?

The 240SX is too heavy to really make use of the F20C. Considering we weigh about the same as an S2000, the result is... a car that accelerates like an S2000 (good, but not blistering) and handles like a 15 year old car (again, good, but not blistering).

The F20C would BAD ASS in a super light little car like an AE86, 510, Starlet, etc.

that's what I'm talking about. F20C in an AE86 is a GOOD idea. Those cars came with a 112hp/105lb-ft 1.6L stock. The F20C is a huge power and torque increase.

it is a huge increase for the 86 yes, but for all the money you spent on that total swap you could put in a hybird 4ag and get the same-if not better- results cheaper...

edit: im not saying the swap isnt cool or anything dont get me wrong, i like the innovation behind it, but there are more cost effective ways to achieve the same end. cool? yes. practical? not even a little bit.

What would be perfect (and street legal) is a F20C engine w/ Comptech supercharger.... drop the weight of the S13 by 200-300lbs, perfect time-attack car.

nothing compares to the KA-t that my freind is putting into his 86, suprisingly the KA is only like 20 or so pounds heavier than the 4ag.

I think it's a good idea, making the swap complete could be a nightmare though.

Reliable engine, high-rev power. Would be fun. Like Alex suggested, a charger would seal the deal.

close.....

What would be perfect for the s2k engine would be a Lotus Super 7 replica body by Caterham or someone, perfect everything-racing car .... until it rains.

like this:

On a slightly related note, I picked up a copy of SCC the other day. They did a "time attack" what a bunch of pussies. NO pushrods, NO flat 6s. Sounds like someone was scared of real cars.

It's F22C for the 2004 S2000 (identifiable by the gold valley cover).

The K20A/K24A transmissions can be adapted to the F20C/F22C. The Elises he's talking about used 200hp K20As, though. They were private imports of the 2nd gen Elise into the US before it was officially released here with a Toyota 2ZZ-GE. In Europe they used a Rover engine.

That super seven is the PERFECT place to put an F20C.
