What axle?

Hey all,

I just picked up a 97 Q45 diif and a drive side axle. Ill be getting new hubs from advnced or imight go back and get the ones i left behide in the yard. Any how i was just needing to know my 97 Q45 diff is 5 bolt and so is the axles from the Q45. Now i need a driver side 300az TT axles. Heres the problem i read that i need to get a axle from a 300zxTT but the problem Is from what im reading the 300zx TT axles are 6bolt. I need a 5bolt 300zx TT axle what do i do to make this work?

I dont want to use the j30 axles i know u can but how do i run the 300zx TT set up. I dont want the j30 axles giving out on me so please anyone know what i should do?

Thanks all.

To you the z32 TT axle your gunna have to get the axle flange(output on the diff) from the older pre96 q45 diff. I'm pretty sure there is no 5 bolt TT axle.

No, the splines on the stub shafts are different.

turbob16ef told you what to do. You need pre-96 q45 stub shafts that have the 6x1 bolt pattern to run the z32TT axle.

So what can I use that strong that will work with the 5bolt I have?

I think your only choices are the 6 bolt swap, or j30 axles.
I think the j30s are about as stout as the q45/TT axles.

this is what i wanted to know how will the j30s hold up to hard launches at the track on drag ratios over the 6bolt. i hear the 6bolt are none breakable thats why i wanted them but i do have a set of 5bolt j30s i can use just to get the diff in my car i have a 300zx in there now but for the power ill be running that 4.10 gearing is just to much.

Ok, I think I was wrong. I think the j30 axles are the same as stock 240 axles, j30s/na z32 just bolt on to the 5 bolt stubs.

Pretty much your only beefy option is to use q45/TT axles. Or custom axles(dss/mazworx)
