1995 s14 fuel tank compatieble with 1997 s14 gas tank?

Go ahead and talk shit bt i been looking and couldnt find a post or thread about this question...if u have link or a info please b kind to reply I bought a 1997 s14 fuel tank for my 1995 s14 i droped subframe and evrything how Zilvia instructed bt i cant seem to get it connected the connections are wrong is there a way to fix this or do i have to buy the same year model of the s14 for gas tank ?
