Control Arm Q
Does anyone know how to stop the ball-joint bolt on the front control arm from spinning? I'm talking about the bolt that connects to the spindle or knuckle or whatever its called where the brake is. I have the nut halfway on and now the bolt is spinning so I can't tighten it anymore. Is there a trick to this? I searched and already tried jacking up the control arm.

If the ball joint is spinning freely, the threads are damaged on it. There's enough tension in the joint to keep it from moving unless the nut binds up on it. Take it back apart and check the threads, recut them if neccessary.

Cool thanks. I managed to fix it though. Jacked up the control arm again, then hammered the spindle down to make it tight so it wouldn't spin. Then I was able to take the nut off, clean the threads with a wire brush, and tighten everything down.
Now to get an alignment, cause my toe's like woah. |
