Water-cooling top mounted turbos
Hello gentlemen,
Does plumbing water lines into a top mounted turbo have any adverse effects on the water system? I am curious if it causes an air pocket to develop due to the turbo being the highest point in the system, and how this issue is generally combated, if it even is an issue in the first place. Thank you. |

A properly burped coolant system shouldn't have any trapped air, regardless of turbo position. It might make your water pump work a little harder but it won't have a noticeable difference.

I haven't seen any issues with it. If you have a slight angle in the CHRA it'll burp itself. This also aids in thermal siphoning during cool down too.
