Clicking in rear
So I've been having issues with the rear of my car having noises. I changed out the open diff to a J30 and checked all of my subframe bushings while I was at it and everything seemed in order. Anyways when I'm driving it will seem like a grinding sort of noise and when I slow down it sounds rotational from my passenger rear and when I get out and physically push my car back and forth it will make a clicking noise. It seems the clicking is heat related because it will not click when I push it without driving it around the block. I don't think it is a hub because I won't hear it on the highway and it will make noise when I let off the gas or coasting to a stop.
*Car was making noise before changing out diff's as well just want to clarify* |

It's one of your axles or hubs. One of the CV joints is going bad and/or a wheel bearing is shot. Time to replace one or both of them.

Agree to this.mainly leaning toward the axels being bad since this is common to axels goin out

The hub is actually new. I was thinking maybe an axle since that's one of the only things I haven't replaced yet. Plus I think it might be an original. Will an axle out of a J30 work? Cause I believe the J30 I pulled the diff out of is still at the junkyard, or would is just be worth my time to get a brand new one?

J30 axles will work. However, they could be bad or not, it's a gamble. I personally would put new ones in, but that's how my brain works. My car is by no means my daily either.

Yeah I shouldn't cut corners since it is my daily and don't want to be stuck on the side of the road from a faulty junkyard axle. Do it right the first time I suppose. Thanks everyone for your input.
