A friend of mine was driving along at highway speed when a bird hit the windshield and then got stuck on his roofrack. That was messy...

I hope I don't encounter anything bigger than I what already have...but my list includes two armodillos, one opposum, three squirrels, and countless birds. I hit a bird just a few weeks ago and the dang thing left a red smear up my windshield....nasty. And like bing, I've had one in my radiator b4 also. Chopped on in half with the radio antenna.....the list goes on. The only time I really feel bad is when it's only fatally injured but not dead...b/c then it's just gonna suffer until it dies. I'd feel bad if it was someone's pet, too...but I haven't hit a dog or cat, yet. >frantically knocks on wooden desk<

If I had the url, I'd post a really nasty vid of a race car plastering a big jackrabbit on a track at over 100mph...needless to say, the rabbit literally disintegrated (it's definitely not for PETA members or those with weak stomachs).

I've successfuly(sp?) dodged an encounter with a deer about three times now. All at night. I've always ended up with a heartattack. I missed two of them by an inch.
The first one was when I was driving a 91 Sentra E!, and the deer just happen to run the same direction I decided to cut my steering wheel (full braking, ofcourse) So I had to cut back to the left and was almost sure that I hit it.
The second very close encounter was on the freeway when I was going about 65-70 at night on my 240SX. That deer just popped up infront of my car out of no where. I had to slam on my brake and swirve out of the way. (the 240 was very stable through out the whole manuver by the way)
I am never going to speed at night again. At least not in Colorado

Ive had a few birds hit the windshield, yea it sucks when your not sure wether they survived the hit and had to suffer you just kinda hope they didnt live.

I hit an armadillo at about 70mph when I was 16, they are just about the size and solidity of a large speedbump, I think my car was actually airborn. But wait it gets better, ya see there was this girl that I worked with that I really liked and she had asked me for a ride that night. I was gonna ask her out but then on the way taking her home I hit the armadillo, now how do you follow THAT up with asking her out lol!
She was traumatized and crying by the time I got her home, what a nightmare. She never asked me for a ride home again and I felt too stupid about the whole incident to ever ask her out.
Such was my highschool life LOL

on time when i first got my license i was driving my dads 88' AWD camry and we were coming back from some place and i swerved to avoid hitting some birds, but just as i swerved there was a large truck trying to pass me and i almost swerved right into them, nearly gave myself and my dad heart attaks.

he told me never to swerve to avoid an animal because you risk losing control or hitting someone else.

i will never swerve, if those animals are that stupid, then they gonna die

i ran over a turtle before n flipped it over on its back so it couldn't move (on accident), then i looked in my rearview mirror to c a ford explorer run right over it after that while it was defenseless, so i guess it wasn't completely my fault.

ok i got out late one night on a swirvy road....really late and I could barly hold my eyes open...when I though i had rean over a cat or somthing? so i turned arround and nothing was there so I thought I was seeing things.......until I put my car on the lift...... well thats when it got messy! I found tons of porcipine (cant spell to late for me!) quills then I looked closer up into my suspension! and found the head of the friggin' thing....yuck.. i have no clue where the body went though?
then one night a Bat hit my windsheild at 95 mph that was really freaky! I got a bird cut in half with my big ass spoiler!
and a bird got my radiator one night on the highway and put a hole the size of my fist in it! no fun waiting for a wrecker with no celly phone!
I don't speed ion the highway anymore!

I hit a goose a couple weeks ago. I would only feel bad if it was a pet type of animal.

Edit: heres a link to my story http://www.zilvia.net/forums/cgi-bin/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=572
PS: I got them aimed up a bit more now but not too high

Fortunately, I have never hit any animal with any of the cars I've driven in my 3 years of driving. I've seen some nasty ones on the road already dead tho. I've never seen deer roadkill, just cats, dogs, racoons, squirrels, other rodents, and the worse, SKUNKS!

Talking about road kill, I killed a skunk with my dad's family van...I didn't want to run it over, but the stupid #### skunk ran in front of my van like a dumbass and stood there. I couldn't react fast enough hauling a 6,000 lbs van going 55mph on a one two way highway. Splat! all over my tire and underneath my car...Disgusting is the term... The horrible part of this story is that we couldn't drive the van for one month because there was guts from the skunk all underneath the van, and it stank like #### shit... No one wanted to clean up the mess...Even people who work to clean your car didn't want to do that job...It was horrible...

True Story

I was in the back roads around my town when two squirrls chasing each other ran out in front of my car. i was doing about 40, so i slammed the brakes and stopped a few feet infront of them. One of them took off a soon as i stopped, but the other one just stood there. ihe stared at me, i stared back at him, he continued to stare at me so i ran his ass over. put in first let the engine hit 4 grand and dropped the clutch and mashed his furry little butt. man he must have been like SSSSHHHHHHH*********T!!!!!!...

the truth is that i just hit the horn after i stopped and they ran away. If i only had the balls to kill that #### squirrl. maybe then they would stop staring at me and the voice would stop calling me a pussy. Oh i do remeber that the last time i was in london i was out with my uncle's friend who races motorcycles, well i was in another car following him through the backroads when a cat jumps out into the road. Man it was horrible he nailed that poor cat strait on the head. at least it died quickly. the worst part was getting the blood off his leather suit, the bike and the car. it was a good summer...

In my old sentra I hit a rabbit and a porqupine. I have had many close misses with elk but fortunately never hit one, my car is only as high as their legs, people get killed occasionally hitting them.

Not really, I hate people who do that. I'd probably slam on my breaks if I saw a Skyline parked on the side of the street, but that's just about it.

So he lit his tires up on the dead racoon??!! Thats Crazy... wait no it makes sense... he wasn't being sick he was trying to drift. He started the drift on the racoon because it gave him the perfect place to spin his tires. Dead racoons decomposing body= no traction. sorta like a wet spot on the road. He is a true Drifter.

you do understand that i am joking, and that under no condition would i ever try to drift on a poor dead animal.

unless... nevermind i would do it just to see what would happen.
