So I jacked the car up on the left side where i thought the problem was coming from, the rear left shock to be exact, (when i reverse, come to a complete stop, downshift, or do anything that puts stress on that area, i hear a loud CLUNK that sounds like its coming from the trunk area... and when i hit bumps the back of the car pulls to the right and it makes that clunking sound, which makes freeway driving pretty scary) and so after getting the left side in the air I started pulling up on the rim and letting it go to see if i could simulate the shock contracting over bumps... and i realized the shock is very weak and easy to compress... and when i let it go i hear the loud thump in the trunk... to confirm that this wasnt normal i jacked up the right side and did the same, it was harder to get the shock to compress and when i released it it made no noise... So what I am led to believe is a have a blown shock.. but would a blown shock cause the car to pull to the right when I hit bumps? Im thinking possibly the alignments off so the shock could be the problem... Do you think its anything besides the shock? .. Any help for a noob is appreciated.. thanks guys.

i had some noise coming from the front of the car similar to what ur having..i would check the upper strut mount. mine werent very tight. its a start at least. if not then i am not sure. i am a noob myself

a blown shock can do many things. Try to do a quick burnout. You'll know for sure if your shock is blown because you will feel the wheel hop like a bitch.

Yea its definetly blown... My only question now is it the only problem... i guess ill find that out after i put the coilovers on.

its also possible that the rear mount is loose, there are two bolts on the rear that hold the shock into the shock tower, i had a similar noise on my car when i was in hurry and didnt torque them down enough, they were only finger tight, and when i put the car back down they were wayyyyy loose, i only had to back out of the garage to realize it was fucked up...

i would check that, but yeah you could easily have a blown shock too...(which is sounds like you do ,but that should cause a clunk like you are describing)
