Battery setting off alarm!!!???

I left my dome light on the other night and my battery went dead. We pulled the cables off the battery and charged it back up but now whenever I reconnect the battery cables the factory alarm goes off and the lights start flashing. Basically it is like someone is pushing the panic button everytime I try to hook up the battery. Any ideas? It's getting very annoying.

It may not have a factory alarm?

If anything. Connect the battery terminals, and run to the driverside door and lock then unlock the door. If that doesn't reset it. You have an aftermarket alarm..which in that case pull the fuse, and disconnect the alarm.

The OE alarm does not go off when power is lost. And if by some reason yours does, a flick of the key in any cylinder will turn it off. If not, it's not OE.

Thanks for the tip, that worked perfectly and the car fired right up.

mine does that everytime I disocnnect/reconnect my battery, lol. I just keep the alarm remote in my arm and disarm it when it goes off....
