![]() While at my friends shop my second attemp at taking off the pcv valve was finally a success. My first attemp at school was run short of time but left me with me scratching my head. How the fuck do you take the pcv valve off once the alternator is off? welp i finally figured that shit out.
First off its best doing this shit on a lift then under the car because my tall ass certainly has a hard time getting up under the manifold. Anyhoo basically you take start off by unhooking the battery. The start taking off the alternator belt by looseing the tension bolts. Then take off the alternator bolts and take off the ground in the back and the sensor/circuit in the back. Slide the alternator off the bracket. Next UNBOLT the alternator bracket. There are four main bolts on the bracket. Once the bracket is off you now have more room to get to the pvc valve. ***in case you dont know what it looks like its the valve with the hose nearest to the alternator bracket, right under the intake manifold. (fucking nissan engineers are fuckin idiots for putting this shit here). Next slide the hose off with whatever tool you want use. My friend had this tool where you would think it would cut the hose but when you squeezed it, it pushed the hose away from the valve! nifty indeed. After accessing the valve slap on a 19mm box end wrench and take that bad boy off. * once off you can shake it too see if it was working or not. If it shakes it still works. Mines had tons of sludge in it. Major deposits from over the years. Put everything back on in reverse and enjoy!!!!
