SR Hipro intercooler piping

I'm in the middle of installing my S14 SR and I'm about to connect my Hipro intercooler pipes that I got off ebay. It looks identical to the Greddy pipes...I was just wondering if I need to connect this pipe:

BTW this is not my engine...just pics I found to reference what I'm trying to explain.

I think it connects here..?

but I wanted to connect my recirculated BOV there. Also where do you guys get your vacuum hoses from? I've looked everywhere but can't find flexible hoses that would fit on my BOV and pipes. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

If you connect those 2 pipes youll have no boost, it shouldbe for your BOV on the TB side of that but then you gonna have to plum it right the way round to the fitting between the MAFS and turbo if you dont have that stock bit infront of the valve cover.

block it, then mount your BOV on the hot pipe that way you got a real short bit to plum into the turbo inlet.

Any way to get some pics of the Hipro kit up for us to see???

Would love to see pics of an overhead shot, along with a front shot, and pics of all joints!!!

Thanks!!!

Also any dimensions on pipe? I believe the IC is 3" and 3" out, but are the pipes smaller diameter???

As for the hose, I always go to radiator shops, normaly they have old bits (needs a clean) theyll normaly give away with all wierd curves and bends that make it easy, if not they should have stock of new stuff that is of all different shapes and sizes and its not that expencive.

I had a feeling I was completely wrong I couldn't find anywhere else to connect it though...I thought I was missing something. So I can cap it and run my BOV on the hot side...cool

As for the rad hoses, I tried going that route but everywhere I go insist I specify a car to match what hose to give me...and I don't know which ones have the sizes I need? Anywhere else? Isn't there some kinda flexible hose? In the second pic I posted that what it looks like he's using.

EDIT: just thought of something...I do have that stock piece, so the BOV would be welded on to the cold pipe and then connected to that hose that goes to the fitting between the MAFS and turbo...so what would connect to the bung...? Does it still get capped?

The intercooler is 3" in and out...the pipes are 2.75 on the cold side and 2.5 on the hot side and comes w/ step up couplers. I didn't get the core though, I used a smaller core cause I didn't want to cut my bumper or block the huge core. I wish I had smaller pipes but this is all I could find. The kit is quality though...nicely polished too. I don't have any pics yet. There are a couple users on here that have it as well. Do a search for Hybrid intercooler and you'll find the post. Also I think the user hotrodv has the kit as well, it looks very similar.

Try a different shop, tell them you trying to find a bit of pipe for somthing custom, most of them will let you look at their piping and choose which one looks best for your needs.

It would be nice if you could cut that pipe off and have your BOV flange welded to where the pipe came out before the TB, it will look pretty clean then all you need is a bit of rubber hose from the outlet of the BOV to that bit accross the valve cover and the bit that then conects that to the turbo inlet pipe

And remember, unless neer 100% of your intercooler core see's cooler flowing air it will actualy let the core heat where there is no air flow giving you higher core outlet temps IE: 24X5X3 thats 100% exposed will have a lower outlet temp than an identical car with a 24X10X3 that only has 80% exposed, as tested with dual temp gauges.

So you probably made a better choise going with a smaller core behind the stock bumper than a larger one.

Yeah It was a big pain in the ass but I'm happy I went w/ this set up. Hopefully it will all work..

I'm still curious as to what that bung actually connects to..? Why did they put it there when the could have just made a straight pipe?

EDIT: It's for the stock blow off. I'm a just a little slow today Thanks for all the help Rezlo, you are a life saver!
