driveshaft vibration

I'm wondering if anyone has ever removed/replaced the hexagon shaped weight/spacer from the tranny end of the driveshaft? Don't ask me why, but i removed (and lost) it when i did my SR swap and now my car has some serious driveshaft vibrations at certain rpm's.

I guess what i want to know is can i just take the hex thingy from my parts car and use it with my existing driveshaft (even though the FSM says "do not remove") or am i better off to not mess with it and use the entire driveshaft from the parts car?
