Which ways can I reduce weight in my 1994 s40sx convertible?? Also is it possible to do an engine conversion with the convertible (KA to SR)?

weight reduction i really cant help you with other than take out the back seat and the spare tire but an sr20 SHOULD fit in your car cause the engine compartment is all the same spec as a regular s13 as is the rest of the car...its just got a rag top

if you want a lightweight car, you really shouldn't have bought a convertable

1lb lighter wheels=6lbs
1lb lighter flywheel=20lbs

of course these aren't exact

A carbon fiber hood will take off a little weight. You could completely stripe the inside, leaving nothing but the driver's seat and steering wheel, and take out the a/c. But my guess is that you wouldn't want to do those things. Your best bet is to just do what tnord said and get lighter wheels and a light weight flywheel. Also another thing to do could be (if you could find one) a light weight drive shaft. But these mods are pretty expensive, unlike removing the spare and taking out seats, which are free.
Oh yeah, the s13 SR will fit in your s13, and i think it's even lighter than the KA. (not sure how much lighter though)

something a lot of people don't think of is...... exercising more and eating less! Seriously, if you're 5'11" and 250lbs, you could lose a good 100lbs and take about .1 seconds off of your 1/4mile ET. I see pro import guys with lexan windows and a huge ass, that pisses me off.

there are a couple of approaches you can go about this.
ballz out!! here it is
-lighter wheels
-lighter flywheel
-carbonfiber hood
-strip the interior and leave only one seat
-remove fuel tank and put a smaller one in trunk
-lighter battery
-lexan windows
-remove all engine acessories
-remove any unnecessary metal
-and to go ballz out go use a tube chassis

this is the extreme way!!!
