I wanted to know what you guys think of running nitrous? I hear people say it's cheating and that it's bad for your motor, but isn't it equivalent to installing a turbo? It just add's more pressure to the cylinders right?
How would a KA24DE handle a 50 shot? Any experience?

done correctly it will be no more dangerous than a turbo. The only reason I like it is because your not adding Constant pressure to your engine. Only when you Hit the button. Of course most people like to go fast ALL the time. So turbo is cheaper to maintain in the long run. b/c of refilling that stupid bottle.

i've heard nitrous isn't so bad for your car, it's detontation that hurts the motor. and we all know a poor job on a turbo setup can result in detonation as well. i've also heard that a 50 shot is ok, but a 75 shot is a lot better. and a 10lbs bottle costs roughly $50 to fill up but i don't know how long it lasts.

Friend of mine just installed the JWT nitrous kit on his Altima (not a 240, but same motor...hehehe). As of now he's utilizing a 65 shot and the motor has had no signs of detonation whatsoever. The JWT system comes with an upgraede ECU which is a big plus inmy book. The one drawback is that I think he paid close to $1,600 for eberything........ouch. But, for quick hp for those who don't plan on going turbo, it's well worth it.
....not to mention the KA, if built for it (and maybe even in stock trim) can handle more than a 65 shot IIRC...... -Bill

DONT get that zex shit. it is the worst shit out there.i have heard too many stories of the system running lean and burning out valves and pistons.
go with nitrous express. it is a wet system and i use it. i also have turbo. i used it last back in august when i didnt have internal work done and i ran 10psi with a 35shot. it was alot for the stock motor but i really didnt care because i knew i was going to rebuild it anyway. if i was u, i would go with a 50shot and if the motor feels strong, go with a 75 shot. the motor can handle it, but i am not one to trust it all the time. because now i use the nitrous as an anti-lag system for my turbo, in which a 35shot is used until i hit 7psi then it shuts off and the turbo does the rest until 25psi

I beleive that it includes a switch so that it is on only when you have the gas pedal fully depressed. Great kit for the money considering it won't blow your motor.

![]() nos is illegal everywhere except a track. you can have it in your car as long as the lines to the bottle are disconnected. and they do check for dummy bottles too. i dont like it personally but then again if i had the money id put it in conjunction with a turbo |
