Not sure if there is a thread on this but has anyone converted their s13 coupe tail lights into the skyline lights or the FB round lights the ones on the fastback on the options videos... Im not sure if they would look good... but ive seen these conversions on integras and civics and they dont look that bad... If so, how much does it cost and where can i obtain those lights.

The Type X tailights are what you're referring to I believe. you can get them at some import shops (have to have japan hookups) or at your local Nissan dealer. Nissan will charge alot though. Be ready to spend 450+ for the tails. But, they're usually used for the Fastback/hatch as you mentioned...normally stock on 180SXes in japan....Would have to fab something or cut out some of your trunk to squeeze 'em in.

As for skyline lights, I don't belive you can use them without some more serious fabrication. But, it would look pretty cool.

eh? I wasn't aware there was any special fabrication (or rather, cutting into our cars) to put the Japanese 180sx tail lights into our 240s.
To those who's swapped them, what needs to be done?

thanks!

There's no fab involved, but you'll have to splice some wires to get the lights to work because the 180sx and 240sx wiring harnesses are a bit different.

If I read this post right you aren't asking about the light going onto a fast back, but rather a coupe. If so then yes there is fabrication involved. I believe that if you were looking into GTR tailights that the r32's may be the easiest and then the R33's. the R34's would be major fab. and $$$$. How ever, If I am wrong and you ARE talking about putting them into a fast back they are bolt in and splice wires. Also. there are very rare Oneline kits that make the fastback tails look like Skyline tails. you can see this kit in my silvia gallery. it is the last pic. It will be up in 1/2 hour.http://community.webshots.com/user/burgy240

So it is possible for the skyline lights... but just need to mod the back of the s13 coupe a little... Would you happen to know where there are such kinda kits... Also do you know if there are any kits where like the inside of the housing of the coupe tailights have like rounded lights kinda like Euro's but not.... im sure those would look dope... if i get a pic ill show you... cause ive seen them before...

How much for the 180SX lights??? has anyone here done it? I like the 180's lights so much better that the 240's. My plan is to eventually get the S15 front conversion on a S13, w/ those tailights, and an SR20DET........oh yeah....
