s13 tranny leak from shifter

aight.. i filled up my tranny 2 3/4 from the shifter.now when i put it back and driving around or wat not... it seems the gear oil is coming out from were shifter boot is..i was wondering if i put the shifter in right...firt i slapped the shifter in... then i put the small C clip in.. kind of just laid there....i dunno y... and the i put the larger C clip in.is that the right installation...the samller C clip kind of got me thinkin if it suppose to jus lay there or hold n e thing down or wat not....can n e one help me??

there is a gasket that sits between the tranny and the plate /w t3h 6 bolts. if its fucked you'll leak a ton of gear fluid from around that general area.

ditto...check that, if you cant fix the leak,rtv it!

you overfilled your tranny. Fill it from the fill plug next time.

to azn poopy,, i didnt remove the 6 bolts, i jus took the c clips out and popped the shifter out. mayb i over filled it

2.5qts is full and you probably had a little left over in the case, so you overfilled it.
