S14's have 2 pressure sensors. One is the MAP and Barometric sensor(the one you are holding). The other is the Evap Pressure sensor.
![]() ![]() You have to watch out cause when mine went the parts store and the dealership gave me the Evap sensor rather than the Map. They have a different voltage sweeps and the ECU doesn't like it. It took the dealer a day and a half of tracing to figure it out. The major difference is in the vacuum nipple. The MAP one comes straight out where as the EVAP has a 90* bend in it. If they give you the one below, don't take it. ![]() The two models: ![]()

OMG, 4 bar map sensor, now I can finally eliminate my MAF. J/k, anybody know what they use the map sensor for, seeing how there's no turbo, and there already is a MAF.

S14's do fuel trim by MAF and IAT/MAP. When mine went I had a dyno day and I went 18:1 and then shut it down. Replaced it then came back to normal.

So as far as function goes.. is the MAP sensor necessary? For anything other than emissions.. I didn't clearly understand the IAT/MAP comment..
