z31 luxury on a 240sx. Tell me what u think

well i had this idea the other night. i was getting into my 240sx after dark and noticed that i have scratched the hell out of the door handle. well i am sick if it and wanted to do somethin creative. well one of my past cars was a 87 300zx, anyone that has been in one or owned one knows the driverside has a little light on the lock that when u pull the handle it lights up. so my idea was to goto a junk yard and grab one and install on the 240sx. yes i will have 3 different keys but what the hell i don't care its better then scratching the door, and its ridiculously cheaper then buying keyless entry. As of now i have the setup ready Togo in my head i just need to get the parts and install.. tell me what u think. thanks

Good idea cause i know what you mean. My door is all scratched up to. what would be really cool would be a light around the ignition switch cause sometimes i have the hardest time finding that damn thing. Post your results cause i'd like to know how it comes out.

A basic alarm is like $150.00 installed or less, and you will have the comfort of not worrying about your car getting stolen or vandalized. I would just do that personally, and it will be easier than making z31 stuff fit on your car and having to constantly lock and un-lock with the key.

yea i like the diy idea, but hes right you could get an alarm which could be handy in the future, esp. after F3F3, BAH shivverzzz, but anyways you could get an alarm that turns on your inside light when unlocked etc. so I think i would invest in one, or if your going to do that light, take lots of pics many people like crazy shit like that.. Good luck!

I recall having this feature on my Z32. When the car was locked, and you lifted the handle, it would illuminate the keyhole and turn on the cabin light. Let us know the details of the wiring. I have an alarm, but it doesn't turn on the cabin light when you unlock the doors. I need to figure out how to make it do that.

A basic keyless entry costs less than $40 and takes literally 5 minutes to connect on any Schassis with power locks. That's a whole hell of a lot easier to disassembling your door handle and finding your idea won't work, or is more involved than you think.
