Does this sounds like BS to you?

ok....I was arguing with someone about this for a long time. I thought those figures are not reasonable....

Scion TC stock motor would lay down about 142 whp. so this turbo kit claimed it will get 290whp/331 torque with 10 psi with stock internal (9.6:1 comprssion). is it possible?

I doubt it will pull that much without internal work... But I think the list of parts would be capable of producing that.. I never drove a fast front wheel drive so Id think that would be scary understeer.

How about this, what are similarly tuned KA-T engines putting to the wheels, given their (reasonably) similar stock outputs?

around the same line philip is on...

check out some of the dyno results from the FWD KA-T (Altima) guys at altimas.net. Let me go there and take a peek. then we could assume that we are comparing apples to apples (well, sort of)

EDIT: found some links... but there's no perfect match as far as on stock internals (on U13 1st Gen Altima) pushing put that much of power wtf... camry engine on crack??

I always thought drivetrain loss is more in RWD cars ... guess it's not the case anymore (after looking at some posts and dyno charts on U13)

Seems a bit high. Usually you can assume that for every 1 atmo that you run you should increase by close to 100%, so if you were making 150 whp na and boost to 14-15 psi you should be close to 300.... unless they eliminated some signifigant restrictions or did some other breathing mods.

In the summertime there was an issue of modified mag with a turbo'd tc. It was makin 400sumthin horsepower on stock internals. The shop that built the tc was really surprised how much boost the engine could take with stock internals. They said they were gonna keep uppin the boost until it blew up to see just how much it would take. ALthough the tc will support crazy numbers on the stock engine it most likely will not do it for very long.

I understand that the tc motor can handle boost well but i just think with 10psi for 290whp is too much..... 250whp would be a reasonable number
