SR From OD to LSD?

I'm switching my OD for a VLSD. I need to switch the flanges (from the 5 bolt pattern to the 3 pair pattern). Is this site wrong in saying I can't use the same flanges from the OD?

http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/lsd/lsd.htm

I don't want to spend 320 on some new flanges.

I suggest you just wait for the true LSD you want. .. .time will be appreciated in the end, this way you can just transfer the OD flanges to the aftermarket LSD you've invested in. .. .thats my opinion, fuck a VLSD, excuse my french

What car did you get the VLSD from? If you got it from another 240 you shouldn't have to do anything. I'm pretty sure all 240s had the 6-bolt output shafts. But I guess if you already bought one with 5-bolt output shafts, then you're either going to have to find the output shafts that will fit into the diff or get different axles like ones from a J30 with the 5-bolt pattern.

Best bet would be to search a little more, this is covered everywhere.

first off it helps in telling what year 240 you have and what car the vlsd is from. second there is a archive section with everything you need to know about lsd options and what output flanges you need. if the vlsd is from abs equiped 240 you will also need a shorter driveshaft piece.

Also for the ppl saying f**k vlsd have you though about what the car is being used for. VLSD is not the best option but it is still a step up from OD.

This could have been found without even friggin searching, there is a FAQ for this.
... this is also not the place to debate the merits of or not to have a VLSD. I am locking this now.
