i had trouble with my 7.5s in the front when i had 225's on them i dunno if 8.5 is logical either because its going to make the handling bad because of the mass that ur trying to turn when u take ur turns..... but thats just my opinion so.... 8.5 i dont think so 8.0 maybe 10 in the back, no, 9.5 is max but i'd go 8.5 which is what i have now with 245/45's on the back

Get the wheels, the SR will cost more then you probably think and it seems lke you don't need any more speed. Rims IMHO are the most important appearance thing you can get. (if you really have enough money for an SR then you have enough for rims and have extra left over)

Judging from the fact you only have a point left on your record, maybe you'd better get the wheels.

You'll get your girl wet, idiots will drool over your car, and you'll keep your license. Don't get the engine, sure you'll go faster but are you mature enough to keep the engine uder wraps and out from under the law?

I'd wonder where you're getting the SR that costs as much as a set of wheels and tires (I'm guessing a $2000 SR?? although maybe you have $4000 in which case if you bought wheels you couldn't afford the SR....)
You'll also have to install it... even if you do it yourself you can expect to pay a good $500 on parts, fluids, tools, etc...
The rule of doing the swap is to always have an extra grand lying around in case of emergency, so if you're really into getting something right away, get the wheels and save yourself the hassle, downtime, and headache of doing a limited budget swap, let alone the pains of a normal swap....

1. Invest in driver's training so as to avoid more points on your license;
2. Retain a lawyer so you can argue out of your next ticket;
3. Take your girl on a little trip somewhere and she will care less about stupid wheels for you car.

The wheels, as you've sized them, will only hurt your car's handling. It will push worse than a FF family sedan. The wheels will also make your car stick out and be more attractive to police, which means more points and a suspended license.

The motor just sounds like a really bad idea for you because you already have too much to control and I think the SCC article has jaded you into thinking it will cost under $2500 to buy and install. Best case scenario, you actually do find a junker SR to put in and get a ticket in a week. Worst case is that you run out of money or find that a $1800 engine lacks parts and reliability and are forced to look at your undriveable car (while keeping points off your license).

seeing as how you are about to lose your liscense anyway, spending money on a car you won't be able to drive soon seems like a pretty dumb idea.

Joe; "hey jack, i'm gonna buy some stuff for the car so i can go faster"

Jack; "aren't you about to lose your liscense, how do you get so many tickets?"

Joe; "yeah, it's cause i drive to fast"

Jack: "hmmm, you're not a smart man are you Joe?"

When I first saw the topic I thought it was going to be sooo ricer... And I was right!

1.Dude get the SR
2.Keep the speed on the track
3.Invest in a radar detector
4.Pay fucking attention to the road (If you look for cops you'll see 'em)
5.Rims get stolen too damn much (even w/ locking lugs)
6.EVERYONE STOP ENCOURAGING THIS GUY TO DO SOMETHING STUPID!

Sorry just a little sarcasm thought everyone would see it
My thinking is as far as an investment rims you can never get your money back from it but the engine will add value to the car (i've see SR 240s going for like$2000 over Blue book)
