My friend clocked his car at the strip at 16.4 all stock with 200+K miles on it hehe. Reaction time was .7 i think. Not too shabby for a stock KA

damn that's pretty good! Just wondering though, do you know where he shifts at? I shift when my rpms hit 6000, because it feels like I'm not getting any power after that. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> Anyone know the ideal rpm to shift at?

Intake, exhaust, NGK wires.....ran a 15.9 with my shitty 15 in rims. havent tested it with my 17s which will give me better grip i hope. i shift at 5400, i ran the quarter mile about 15 times now testing different rpms to shift at and i ran the quickest time shifting at 5400. by they way, i have 146K miles, hehe. peace.

ran a 15.75 at 90mph with major wheelspin, tires i was running on were the falken ziex, mods just a GT Spec turbo exhaust, full interior including spare tire, 16inch wheels and ohhh its a 96 se with 90500 miles on her. there where a couple of 240s' there one s13 that ran a 15.9 fully gutted out and another s14, it was funny how the guy in the other s14 kept tellin me i was gonna run a 16.1 or slower cause it was daym near stock i said to him right!!!! hahahahah proved him wrong when i ran a 15.8 then the 15.75 and best thing bout it i won a trophy that night!!!!!! runner up though but is all good <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

ok.. *sigh*.. 1st... we've been over this 5400 rpm shift thing. Why must to continue to spread such nonsense. Can you please scan your time slips and post them? I REALLY doubt your getting faster times shifting BELOW peak horsepower. 2nd. 17" tires will HURT your 1/4 times. Those tires are not only heavier, but also require more power to get them turning b/c the weight is distributed further from the center of the wheel. You'll get better traction b/c your car isn't strong enough to spin them. PLEASE STOP THE INSANITY.

i ran a 15.7 with just a 5zigen exhaust and butterfly/resonator removed. i had 90k miles on my s13. i shifted at 6200ish.
speed up your shifting and you'll drop your time more than just thinking about what rpm. slow shifting adds a lot of time <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() |

Wow!! Everyone seems to be clocking pretty good. I was trying to shift as fast as I can, but my clutch level is higher than normal and I have a stock shifter. I think it's all in the launch; I agree fast shifting has a lot to do with it too, but if I could improve my launch, that will also improve my times drastically. I just can't get an ideal launch. I found that when I burned out a little more, I got a better launch, and a better time. Could it be my tires? I lose some traction while going into second gear too. My tread is ok though. First off, your reaction time does not determine your 1/4 mile time, it's for when racing against another person. You can wait 2 minutes before crossing the start (which starts the time) and you'll still get 16's or whatever. Focus on improving 60 foot times, usually it's printed out in the timeslip. A good 60' will produce a good 1/4 mile time.

yoiu guys make me feel like and idot and going back to automatic transmision. My best time i had run on the street with the Bliss Power ID meter was of 17.2 my car is a ka2E wiht port intake manifold, modified air box and hard ass pressure plate that will grip like veltro any any rpm range to a kevlar 6 pots springless cluthc.

SWEET JESUS! Thats the stupidest thing i've heard all day...maybe all week! 13.3 with bolt ons? A CRX i know of with a ZC motor and turboed ran 13.1 (Very respectable), and yet you plan to get 13.3 with intake, header and exhast?!? Lets take a trip to the library and do some research, BEFORE we post ignorant 1/4 mile claims. But anyways, good luck to you.....BWAH HA HA HA HA HA....no really.

I'm calling Bullshit. I've NEVER seen/heard of a Bonestock s13 running a 15.3 I wanna see that list of N/A mods.. You'd have to be putting almost 250whp. I wanna see the list AND the timeslip. This is VERY unbelievable.

im not trying to start shit on the board but if you want proof, then the proof is what you'll get... besides.. you guys act as if 13 sec is godly......if you have the money to put into a N/a motor... then do it...dont criticize since turbo is the only alternative to 240's to you guys.

I agree with everyone else, I think 15.2 for a stock 93 240 is BS. Come on now, your engine stock is only pushing like what? 155 horses and 160 pounds of torque. NO WAYS are you hitting those times unless you did MAJOR weight reduction. If you did do MAJOR weight recuction, I would call that a mod. I beleive that you could probably get into the 13's with an n/a engine(with lots of money), but that stock crap, I don't beleive. Anywhere below 16 seconds in a stock 240sx, I find hard to beleive. Even if you post a slip, I won't beleive that it's your car; if you have a video though, then I will beleive you.

I'll give credit where it's due. S13silady said they had a full N/A built car.. if it was fully built 13's are possible (yet improbable), but what I call BS on is the Stock 240 doing 15.2 <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>
13.3 IS amazing in an N/A 240. I think I would wet myself if I saw an N/A 240 do a 13.3. Seriously. Personally I love how smooth the powerband is in a N/A car. of course I like the rush you get from a big turbo spooling up <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() ![]() (BTW - Are you a girl or Guy?? not that it matters, but I'd like to stop having to be so ambiguous when replying)
