steering fluid leaking.

I found steering fluid leaking from the lines that come out of steering fluid reservoir and go into the steering rack. Followings are pictures of it. Multiple spots along the lines are leaking. Instead of ATF, the previous owner had typical steering fluid in the car.

How do I swap the lines? I never have fixed leaks like this. Will the parts cost a lot?

I've had to replace lines on my sohc.

60-80 from an autoparts store for one of the lines, IIRC. it was a bitch to get them bolted into the steering rack. won't be that bad, just be patient

Yeah, I originally used that too... it was thick as hell but it didn't completely stop the leak. I was leaking on the pressure line where the rubber meets the metal clamping. So i needed to get a new one.

Im glad I read this, because 2 days ago I decided I would eventually try that LUCAS stuff when I saw it. Good to read some positive feedback about it...

Just a tip, use ''line'' wrenches on the rack. It will be less likely to strip the bolts on the lines. And you will get a better grip. Good luck.

Line wrenches = flare nut wrenches.
