What size spacers? (S14/8"+38)

Ok, so i picked up a set of wheels that were previously on an MR2 and an FD3S, so they have horrible ugly offsets. They are 17x9+38 and 17x8+38. I know i need to get spacers in the front, but i dont know how big to go.
The wheels are 17x8+38 with 235/40/17 tires on them.
How big of spacers should i go with if I dont want to roll or pull my fenders?
Will a 15mm be ok? or should i go with a 20mm?
and a 10mm in the rear make sense?

Thanks in advance for your help.

stay with a 15mm to be conservative. be sure you get longer studs too.
