z32 problems (once again) sr20det
so i had my car running for a week perfect. It is soo fast, before the car idled perfect 900rpm ish. Now the car shakes violently at idle and is very slow. All of a sudden when driving i heard a loud backfire and the power instantly cut off. Can maf's go bad like this? i'm using a z32 maf and safc2 setting are 2in 5 out i'm using a s14 sr20det.
When i unplug the maf the car idles like once before. when i plug the maf in, car wants to die. Checked wiring it seems good. |

help
I have an sr20det s14 blacktop with an s14 mafs. If i upgrade to a z32 mafs and 550 nismo injectors, would I have to flash my ecu if I have a safc.? And how do I set it if I don't need a flash.
I also have a similiar problem with my stock mafs. This is why i might need to upgrade sice there are no s14 mafs available. |

are you sure that you didn't blow an intercooler pipe loose?

curtflirt, dont ever come into a thread that someone has started so they can receive help and then ask a totally different question. its ok if you have the same problem, but tuning and ecu's should be another thread. if you want answers to that, start another thread you will receive them.
as far as your mafs go, have you shot it with a meter to check for your voltage? i believe its .8v-1.5v at idle and 1.4v-2.0v at 3000rpm between pin 1 and ground. make sure the engine is warmed up. i also agree with checking your intercooler piping. if you have a SAFC, it has a sensor check, IN 1 is your maf, you can use that to read the voltage from. |
