I CANNOT figure this out!
It's a 91 ka24de. I had the head rebuilt, replaced rings and rod bearings, did timing chain tensioners and after putting the motor back together I can't get it to start. It turns over but it doesn't even sputter. there's no combustion what-so-ever. I have verified 3 times now that the mechanical timing is exactly how it should be. I have used the marks and counted links and it's perfect. The distributor is in correctly (not 180 off) and it's set to 20 btdc. There's fuel pressure in the rail and I spun the distributor and heard each injector click on. Each plug has been pulled and verified for spark. Battery has been freshly charged several times from all the cranking I've been doing. I put the ecu in diag mode and got 55 meaning everything's ok. I have tested all the necessary inputs and outputs for starting as outlined in the FSM and everything checks out. I have tried pouring a little fuel in the intake manifold, but nothing. I have tried holding the throttle full and part open while cranking. I have done everything I know of to do and it doesn't even want to sputter. It's not even close to starting. I don't have a compression tester here but like i said the head was decked and the head gasket torqued correctly, and when you bump the motor over it pops your hand off the plug hole so I don't believe that to be the problem. Even if it was compression it should still sputter. It should try to catch and run like ass but atleast do something! I don't even get the sound of it wanting to catch. Not even a backfire! I have fuel, spark, correct mechanincal and ignition timing and am at my wit's end here. It has new plugs and i just cleaned the fuel off of them from all the unsuccessful cranking and still nothing. I know i'm probably going to get responses like "well if it won't start then you don't have all those things" but everything has been verified several times over. Where do I go from here? Please help!
