Maybe i just was not being clear.
In VAST experience with japanese, austrailian and american tuners, the VVT cam lobe switching system, has had MAJOR issues when changing cam profile when the motor is outputting more thatn 350ftlbs of tq before and during the cam switch. It has been known for snapping cams. Port/Intake manifold profiles did not even come up here. You can correct this issue by using one of the readily available VVT killer kits.
I DONT want to get into any arguments over lag issues between these series. Mostly this is based on turbo and cam profiles, and a lack of preplanning when putting together a setup. DSG did quite a bit of preplanning with his settup and seems to have great response out of a Non VTC setup.
