my previous car was a turbo'd 1990 miata (lightest year they were made). i now own an SR'd 240. comparing the two is really hard to do, i like the power of the SR engine, but the miata was definitely more fun to drive.

i had AGX's/eibachs for suspension duty, greddy turbo/starion fmic, link ECU w/knock sensing, 2.5" exhaust from greddy dp back, Enthuza turbo catback, and a few other random things done to it for supporting mods. it dynoed 187rwhp and 179lb/ft of tourque@ 12psi with the little greddy/mitsu TD04 15G turbo. but, the car only weighed around 2300lbs so with that power level it still screamed. if i were to do it over again i would get a 94 model with the 1.8 motor and Torsen LSD and do my own turbo setup. all around it was a great car though, and i miss it a whole lot. i never got the gay car comments except when i first bought it completely stock. you MUST get a rollbar or the car does look a little fruity with the top down, plus the rollbar stiffens the car up a hell of a lot. mine had cooling problems so i sold out for a 240sx.

not sure if these will work but we'll see:

SR motor set/clip $2500+, FMIC kit $700+, Downpipe $100+, 3" exhaust $500+, Misc install parts $100+, Shop labor for install $1000+ and you still only make 220rwhp for $5000
so what's so CHEAP about the SR swap again?
