s14 trunk is loose but doesn't open

Just got this car, decided to check out the trunk. Previous owner had informed me that trunk didn't pop up, I have to pull the trunk latch in the cabin and then go open the trunk. I did that blah blah. Then I go to close it, and it does kind of latch but it jiggles like it's loose. So I'm like wtf. I open it a few more times and close it and make sure the cabin trunk thing is down too. Still loose. Then I possible might have bumped the valet switch thing in the trunk, b/c now I can't get the trunk open either. I move up the cabin lever but when I go to open the trunk it doesn't come up. Now I'm kinda annoyed, I've heard people having to take off a rear speaker to somehow reach into the trunk and open it from the inside.

I also don't know if the trunk was loose before all this, I never really checked it out. Another important point is that trunk does not have key lock mechanism it was totally removed just a hole there. LMK if anyone has any ideas. I know that if I ever get the trunk open again that I can check the rubber stopper things and the lower latch to adjust it and stuff. The trunk does fit well as it is, it looks like it's aligned up and there is not gap it's just loose and won't open. FML lol.
