Code 55/Clutch

Okay so i did my CEL code today on my 95 240. The code showed up to be 55 and 55 so happens to be *55 - Normal engine management system operation is indicated – this means all is OK.

My question is if its normal and it means all is Okay, then why did the code show up in the first place? I didn't read it wrong, i did it over and over just to make sure and it was code 55.

Also is my clutch going out on me? Because its pretty hard for me to go into first and reverse when i'm neutral or dead stop.
