Ok, so I bought a carbon fiber apex'i front strut for my 98 240sx. It's a discontinued product and I'm starting to wonder if it's because it's poorly made. This didn't happen at first, but after a short while I noticed a gap in the bar. It's is red on the sides, and in the middle it has a black graphite look to it with an Apex'i logo. What I don't understand, is why they have the carbon fiber seperated in to like 5 pieces that just sort of plug into eachother.
I took my strutbar off last night and one of the pieces just slid right off of it, and I didn't see anything that was keeping the pieces together in there except glue. Why would Apex'i make a strutbar that is held together with glue, that doesnt' make sense. It looks really nice but I'm assuming it isn't being very effective since it's not a solid piece that stick together.
I called Apex'i a month ago or so and told them about it and he said he's never seen that, and that it hold's together 1000hp skylines just fine. How could it hold together a 1000hp skyline if it can't hold together my 170hp 240sx? He said they don't offer warranties on discontinued products.
Has anyone else seen this or heard of this problem on this strutbar. Maybe I should take some pics of it.
