Went up to Steve's (240 2NR) place in Madison this weekend. We used his buddy's shop to install the parts. It was nice to work there...they had tons of tools. But the mosquitos were Panamanian or something. Shitty.
Basically, everything went as planned. We didn't do the rear bushings...no time. And Steve got the wrong front struts, so he's using my old ones...which is causing some seriously LAME suspension gyrations. He'll have it remedied soon. The Koni inserts are not that difficult to install at all. Just cut the tops off, take out the guts, clean it, drill a hole for the bolt in the bottom, slip in the insert, bolt it in, put the dust cover on, and rebuild with springs like you would with any other setup. Simple. The ride is amazing. I can't describe how much of a difference. Turn in is super quick and the car just plain GRIPS. I love it. And the ride is definitely NOT bone-jarring. I have both front and rear set at 1/2. Just what I wanted. And the drop is just enough. Looks good, but I'm not scraping on anything. Oh, and I set the front bar at full stiff, and the rear I left at full soft. I meant to bump it up too, but ran out of time. Turns out, the handling is totally neutral like that. I love it. And it's nice to not have the rear snap around on me with my open diff and SR20DET. It used to be much more "eye-opening". Now it just sticks, plants and goes. Awesome. Let me try these pics again. My car is the red piece, Steve's is the beautiful white 93 hatch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Eric
