Rough idle and tapping sound after taking out chain guides in sohc

yes yes, thats exactly what seems to be going on. I did some searching on "deisel" in some of the forums, and some people have said its due to their exhaust manifold being loose. The problem is that it really sounds like the sound is coming out of my block. Someone else said that the injects might not all be working, so i'll look into that.
