300zx struts on s14?

I just got the entire rear setup of a 300zx for my brake conversion. now since the z32 uprights needs a fork type strut, do i have to get z32 struts for the rear and s14 struts for the front? do they even fit? this article was very unclear

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/january03/240sx/

The only other modification needed to mount up the Z32 upright is modifying the rear suspension. The 300ZX uses a fork-type rear shock, while the 240SX uses a bolt-type rear shock mount. Since we had our Zeal suspension, we contacted Endless USA and they graciously provided us with the Z32 lower shell casing from their Zeal suspension for this project. For those of you that are not going with a coilover setup, it is possible to buy Z32 rear shocks and modify them to fit the S13. Here are pictures of the different rear lower shell casings.

I dont see how I could possible change the lower half of a strut. so Im not sure what kind of custom thing ZEAL provided them with. has anyone actually done this?
