I have a DOHC s13 (92) and notice a fairly significant surge in power at 5400 rpms. Just started to notice it again, probably because of the cold weather. I'm wondering anybody else has seen this or knows what causes it. . . The car is peppy enough below that, but when it hits it does give me a decent kick in the pants. The motor is stock (as far as I know). No intake, exhaust, anything. . .

I no way am I complaining, just wondering what causes it.
